Camargue Race
The Camargue bull race is a sport practiced in the south of France, in which raseteurs (bullfighters) try to snatch attributes (ornaments) fixed between the bull's horns. This sport is very popular in the Gard, Hérault, Bouches-du-Rhône, and Vaucluse departments. Each manade (a Camargue bull ranch) has its own cocardiers (bulls). These bulls are nervous and fast, and spectacular charges against the barriers are sometimes witnessed. Some of these cocardier bulls have become famous and even have their own status.
The Trophée taurin is the French championship of Camargue race, organized by the newspapers "La Provence and Midi Libre". The championship was created in 1952 by Georges Thiel, Marius Gardiol, and Paul Laurent. It comprises three divisions: the Trophée des As (Trophy of Champions), the Trophée des Raseteurs (Trophy of Raseteurs), and the Trophée de l'Avenir (Trophy of the Future).

The Gallerie
The French Federation of Camargue race was created in 1975 as a non-profit association under the 1901 Law. Camargue race was recognized as a sport by the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports. The "Course à la cocarde" (Course with the cockade) definitively became the "Course camarguaise" (Camargue race)».
