Anatidae
The Anatidae are the largest family of the order Anseriformes. It includes geese, swans, ducks and related species. They are medium to large sized waterfowl (30 to 180 cm), heavy-bodied, with short, webbed feet.

Ruddy Shelduck
The ruddy shelduck is a large duck with entirely orange-fawn plumage except for the head, which is much lighter. The head-body transition is made by a small black collar in the case of the male.

The gadwall is a dull-coloured dabbling duck. The male is grey with a black rump and white belly. It has a white wing speculum edged with black and rufous that can be seen both in flight and at rest. The bill is grey. The female is difficult to distinguish from the female of the mallard.

Mute Swan is a species of bird in the Anatidae family. Its name comes from the bump it has on its beak, called a tubercle. Its plumage is immaculate white. Eyes are hazel in color. Beak is orange with a black tab at the end. The short, webbed legs are blackish.

This diving duck is remarkable for its very contrasting colors. Male and female are quite dissimilar. The male has a bright red head with a yellow underside. The neck, chest and belly are black, the sides white and the back dark brown.

The Common Shelduck is a cave-dwelling species that preferably nests in rabbit burrows. It is the largest surface duck in France.
