Raptors

Raptors, or bird of prey, is an ambiguous vernacular name that designates a bird of prey. These have a hooked, sharp beak and possess talons. Raptors generally have remarkable eyesight. In addition, some species have, something unusual for birds, a good sense of smell.
The term raptor continues to be used by ornithologists and laymen, but does not correspond to a precise taxon.
